Had the potential

I had been waiting for this since last spring and I sure did have high expectations for the movie, Cage and plot. Unfortunately I had set my bar way too high and was slightly disappointed for what I saw although the package was quite entertaining and had the potential.

First of all I must say that it doesn't take much to gain my attention. Cage and sniper in this particular case did the job. The trailer was very good in my opinion, but can't say the same thing about the whole thing. The movie wasn't a failure, but I think they could have done something differently. The storyline could have gotten more attention, 'cos it seemed to fast forward in some places and got out of hands when it came closer to the end. The movie's runtime is only 1 hour and 40 minutes so they could have made it longer and focused more on the plot.

Cage does a decent job and is a believable assassin. I must say that I liked him. Can't say the same thing about his colleagues. It feels like this is a movie reminding that Cage's still in the movie business, but I'm still waiting another action movie as good as The Rock from him. I think Bangkok Dangerous had the potential, but the somewhat lame plot which got only worse till the end ruined it for me.

Overall this is a good action movie and with it's short runtime this could be the perfect appetizer for the main movie of the evening. Unfortunately I can't say that this is a-must-see-movie. Maybe 6 stars might be more eligible for this one, but since I'm a Cage fan it's a 7.
