In 1938, an art collector appeals to eminent archaeologist Dr. Indiana Jones to embark on a search for the Holy Grail. Indy learns that a medieval historian has vanished while searching for it, and the missing man is his own father, Dr. Henry Jones Sr.. He sets out to rescue his father by following clues in the old man's notebook, which his father had mailed to him before he went missing. Indy arrives in Venice, where he enlists the help of a beautiful academic, Dr. Elsa Schneider, along with Marcus Brody and Sallah. Together they must stop the Nazis from recovering the power of eternal life and taking over the world!

I choose... Wisely.
The Indiana Jones films are weird. I saw the first film, Raiders of the Lost Ark, when I was young and loved it - so much that I decided to see its sequel, Temple of Doom. Big mistake. TOD is by far one of the most nightmarish films I've ever seen, with its Cult Sacrafices and Child Enslavement. Years later, I go with caution into the third film, Last Crusade...
And it was fantastic! Brandishing the dark tone of Temple of original PG-13 (expect for one Gruesome death seen at the end), Last Crusade is what an Indy movie should be - spirited, Funny, and incredibly entertaining. This is in large part to the excellent chemistry between Sean Connery and Harrisnon Ford, which gives the film heart and charm, as well as a variety of incredible action scenes and great music.
The script is filled with laughs, and the pacing is spot-on. The ending is possibly my favourite Indy tomb-raid scene there is, and the culmination of the Grail Plotline is perfect. If I do have some gripes it would be that that the Venice sequence is a bit dull compared to the rest of the film, through still great, and that some of the side characters are forgettable. But really, it's hard to care when you're having so much fun.

Not the last crusade!
Indy strikes again. This time enhanced with the incredible presence of Sean Connery as Dr. Henry Jones. Harrison Ford and Connery have an incredible chemistry in their acting and they compliment each other in so many ways. Truly remarkable.
This third part of the series is my favourite (thus far at least). In addition to the great father-and-son -theme, I really like the way the nazis are brought back to the story and the plot in general. What would be a bigger prize for an archeologist than the Holy Grail?
The mood and pace of the movie is great along with the already mentioned great acting. Some events that defy logic and reason happen occasionally, but that's just the Indiana Jones -way.. They don't disturb the big picture and the enjoyability-factor is not affected.
This was a great movie. No doubt about it.
