Ethan Hunt and his team are racing against time to track down a dangerous terrorist named Hendricks, who has gained access to Russian nuclear launch codes and is planning a strike on the United States. An attempt to stop him ends in an explosion causing severe destruction to the Kremlin and the IMF to be implicated in the bombing, forcing the President to disavow them. No longer being aided by the government, Ethan and his team chase Hendricks around the globe, although they might still be too late to stop a disaster.

Every time I think Tom Cruise is finally going to start fading into obscurity, he proves me wrong. With the fourth entry into his takeover of the Mission Impossible franchise, Cruise and director Brad Bird have crafted the best entry in the series by far. The requirements for an good espionage flick are all here: turn of events that leaves the good guys operating with no back up, cool gadgets by the ton, and slick action scenes that hold pace with the best in the biz. New to the series here is Jeremy Renner of whom the scuttlebutt says is to take the reins from Cruise when he decides to hang it up. Time will only tell if he can keep the string of box office hits rolling, but he makes a strong argument for the cause here.

BradBird(TheIncredibles)
makes his live action directorial debut and makes his mark. Tom Cruise reprises his role as Ethan Hunt, and in the 4th installment, his team (Consisting of Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg and Paula Patton) are implicated in the bombing of the Kremlin by a terrorist group. The President of the United States initiates Ghost Protocol, which essentially means that IMF is disavowed. It's up to Hunt's team to go rogue to clear their name and save the U.S. from a nuclear strike. The film has some great action sequences and a worthy cast. As I stated before, Bird shows that he can do more than just animation and most likely punched his ticket for many future projects.
