Kirrishar reviewed Bubba Ho-tep (2002)

Like Bruce Cambell? Then you'll LOVE this movie! Bruce is Elvis and Ozzie Davis is JFK, watch to understand, and yes while it is a 'bad' movie it is a bad movie that is worth seeing for the fun of it all.

Kirrishar reviewed Memoirs of a Geisha (2005)

If you wanted to know what a Geisha truly is this explains the less glamorous side of it. It was a long movie, beautifully done, and rather depressing at parts. This movie brings to light some of the old culture of Japan. I recommend it to anyone who loves the culture and wants to learn more.

Kirrishar reviewed Love Actually (2003)

This movie was a blast to watch. Even got my hubby to watch it with me, and lo and behold he was laughing just as much as i was. it was neat to see Alan Rickman in a romantic comedy as well.
This movie shows you the joy of love, and the pain it sometimes brings during the holiday season in Britain. While it is a romantic comedy, there is more than enough laughs for your man as well.
My hubby and I highly recommend it.

Kirrishar reviewed Escape from New York (1981)

Quite a bit of fun, and action. Also look for teh guy who voiced Chef as the Duke Of New York. This movie does has a squeal 'Escape from L.A.' both are quite a bit of fun to watch, and even more fun for people who love cameos

Kirrishar reviewed Screamers (1995)

This is an interesting movie in sci-fi. The complexity that they went through to create a sense of paranoid distrust, and even the idea of the screamers is amazing for its time. I HIGHLY suggest this for anyone who enjoys the other world sci-fi movies or even loved john Carpenter's Thing

Kirrishar reviewed The Myth (2005)

I was uncertain about this movie at first and wasn't certain about it still when i read the back. However being a fan of Jackie Chan I picked this up and was rather impressed. I don't want to give anything away, but the places the filmed were beautiful, and while it had some parts that were laughably unbelievable they did explain things to make more sense. I recommend this movie as a date movie, action for him and a bit of romance and stunning locales for her.

Kirrishar reviewed The Quest (1996)

Basic plot is kinda poorly chosen but one of the good things about this movie is a fighting, there is a LOT of action. The movie shows off a number of different fighting style from around the world, sumo, Thai kick boxing, Capoeira being my favorite.

On the bad side, the dialogue really isn't all that good, and quite laughable at times.

Kirrishar reviewed Five Children and It (2004)

Excellent movie for the whole family. For those who have read the book they do change some things but it is still a wonderful movie that says quite a bit about the family. Also the sand fairy is voiced by stand up comedian Eddie Izzard. Do remember to listen to the credits, I think they let him ad-lib a bit

Kirrishar reviewed The Golden Child (1986)

This has got to be Eddie's best movie ever. I highly suggest it for the great laughs and jokes.

Basically he plays a PI hired to find and rescue a child who is the golden child, a being of pure innocence that another group is trying to corrupt so they can kill him. Hilarity ensues as he takes up the case and has to travel in tibet on the back of a yak :)

Kirrishar reviewed Dungeons & Dragons (2000)

Not a bad movie, the special effects were really good especially on the beholder, however beholders wouldn't be like a lame watchdog. The other sad thing about this movie was the horrid forced happy ending, on the dvd they show the original ending which was sad but more believable to anyone who has played Dungeons and Dragons

Kirrishar reviewed The Phantom (1996)

Poor take on a comic series, but a lot of fun to watch with the kids anyway I do not recall there being anything truly bad about this movie overall.

Kirrishar reviewed Anaconda (1997)

I loved this movie, the best actor in it was the snake. There are some rather poorly shot scenes, but all in all it was a fun movie and they did do quite a bit of research on anacondas before making it. The squeal about the blood orchids was funnier

Kirrishar reviewed The Ice Pirates (1984)

Classically bad movie I recommend it for people who love bad movies. It would make a great movie for your own MST3K night. the movie has some good moments, my 2 favorite scenes deal with space time fluctuation and space herpes 'nough said

Kirrishar reviewed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990)

I'm a BIG TMNT fan, and loved this movie. Its a great intro to all the characters of the series. Plenty of story and action, and the best of the three in my opinion

Kirrishar reviewed DOA: Dead or Alive (2006)

It actually has a bit of plot, but not much. Mostly this brings up a bit more on the DOA character personalities and shows some fights, as well as a bit of volleyball, other than that its nothing but a great B movies with a lot of tight/skimpy clothes on chicks.

Kirrishar reviewed Asterix at the Olympic Games (2008)

So funny. Took me quite some time to find it subtitled but this whole series is so fun. Takes place at the olympics in Greece, where Asterix, Obelix, and The Druid Get-a-fix (sometimes called Panoramix) head off to help another gaul that is love with the Greek King's daughter.
The live actions are great, my intro to the characters was the animate 12 tasks of Asterix. They are all based off of a French comic book series. It does hold some truth to history.

Kirrishar reviewed Zathura: A Space Adventure (2005)

I found this to be a fun kids movie. It is along the same lines as jumanji as the plot revolves around them completing a board game to make everything return to 'normal'. It's not bad, but there are some moments that you can guess what is going to happen before it does. however there are a few twists i was happy with.

Kirrishar reviewed Curse of the Golden Flower (2006)

this movie shows the most dysfunctional family ever. it has some beautiful fight scenes as well as the clothes for those not into the dynamics of chinese culture this might be a bit much also this is not something for someone who has never seen an oriental movie before as they will not understand much about how chinese royalty works I am happy to own this movie as anytime i feel my family is screwed up i can watch it and realize mine will never get tho the subtle intrigue that this one has been playing on itself for what must be about six to twenty years.
If you are expecting something that is a line of fights and battles and action this is not for you. this moive is about a dysfunctional royal family

Kirrishar reviewed Eragon (2006)

After reading the books this movie was horrid. Read the book, dont watch the movie. This book is nothing like the star wars thing

Kirrishar reviewed Meet the Feebles (1989)

NOT FOR KIDS
This movie is an adult movie with puppets. Whatever you do do NOT let your young children watch this thinking it is like the muppet show.
These puppets deal with bdsm, stds, drugs, and sex. A funny movie, but rather adult.
(our video rental place had to take it off the shelf because people were renting it for their kids)
