A Psammead is 'It', an ancient, irritable, ugly sand fairy, which five children find one day in a gravel pit. As a reward for finding him, It grants the children one wish a day, the results of which will last until sunset.

Five Children and It
Excellent movie for the whole family. For those who have read the book they do change some things but it is still a wonderful movie that says quite a bit about the family. Also the sand fairy is voiced by stand up comedian Eddie Izzard. Do remember to listen to the credits, I think they let him ad-lib a bit
