Quentin Tarantino is a master at his craft. He proves it with each outing and Django Unchained is no different. The story has been heavily written on so I won’t waste time with a plot summary here. Just know that Tarantino proves he is unmatched when it comes to dialogue. In addition, Jamie Foxx, Christopher Waltz, and Leonardo DiCaprio are at the top of their game here and it is worth mentioning that their costars come fully prepared as well. As for the controversy surrounding the content, my opinion on that is it is a movie about slaves and slave traders. It should be brutal and barbaric, which it is. That said, it is also hilarious and not to be missed.

Quentin Tarantino returns with his 8th film. He has never disappointed me with anything he has been associated with, and while this falls short of being another masterpiece, Django Unchained is still pretty damn good. At this point, pretty much everyone knows the story. Jaime Foxx's Django is a slave that is freed by Christoph Waltz's Dr King Shultz. Shultz is a bounty hunter and needs Django to assist him in identifying some targets for a job. If he agrees to do so, Shultz will help Django free his wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington) from the clutches of Calvin Candie. (Leonardo DiCaprio) Django Unchained is full of the trademark attributes that makes his films great. This film gets his usual polished writing, wit and violence. We are also treated with some standout performances. Waltz, DiCaprio, and Jackson shine in their roles. Jaime Foxx is good as Django, but here, he isn't able to keep up with his counterparts. Django stumbles a little in the final 30 minutes, but that doesn't stop it from being one of the better films of 2012.
