Boomtown?
Reminded me a lot of the tv serie Boomtown. Like we've read from the other reviews I also think that the storytelling was fascinating. Good acting and interesting plot with a pinch of action makes Vantage Point definitely worth of watching.

Traditional story - divergent flash-back story line
Excellent storytelling in revealing what really happened. Adventurous closing indicates that the good has won in spite of quite a few casualties on the way. Fighting against anti-american forces takes its toll once again.

Vantage Point
Pete Travis take a bow. What a way to start off your feature film debut. I love the way this story was told. Great choice of actors, good thrills and a very good car chase too! Vantage Point is well worth a watch.

Nice action with an interesting plot
Vantage point portrays a single event from the viewpoint of several different people. This kind of flashback -moviemaking can be effective at times and it can be used to make a pretty simple storyline seem complicated by revealing small bits at a time. Sometimes it's plainly unnecessary and dull.
I think Vantage Point used this storytelling style pretty effectively and aside from a few minor annoyances it was a good way to move the story forward. The film tells about an assassination scheme directed towards the president of the United States and ties in several people who witness the event. A few Secret Service agents, a couple of tourists and some media folks are caught up in the action surrounding the incident.
The story seems to be somewhat sympathetic to the tough struggle against global terrorism by showing a scenario that is, at least to a certain extent, believable. Maybe that's one of the reasons why the hippie infested Rotten Tomatoes gives the film such a low rating.. who knows.
Anyhow, I though the movie was entertaining and raised some good thoughts about the extent that people might be willing to go, to reclaim what they call justice.
The movie is pretty short and leaves quite a few open issues hanging in the air, but I guess it's just not meant to be a comprehensive story.
