The classic and beloved story from Dr. Seuss is now a CG animated film from 20th Century Fox Animation, the makers of the Ice Age films. An imaginative elephant named Horton (Jim Carrey) hears a faint cry for help coming from a tiny speck of dust floating through the air. Horton suspects there may be life on that speck and despite a surrounding community, which thinks he has lost his mind, he is determined to save the tiny particle! Jim Carrey and Steve Carell lead an all-star cast in bringing this wonderful family picture to life!

Great Fun!
Great fun can sometimes come in the most minuscule form - this movie definitely proves it.
Horton the elephant lives in the Jungle of Nool, leading a life full of fun and relaxedness. He enjoys every day with the local residents - his friends, and the rest of the bunch. However, a day like any other day turns out to be a little different, as Horton bumps into a speck of dust; not just any speck, a talking speck! In this speck, there is a whole city, called Whoville, full of Whos. And as their whole world, inside the tiny speck, has gone drifting, they cry out for help, and Horton decides to answer that call. Now shielding a speck of dust from harm might be a tricky job indeed, but having all his neighbours - namely the whole jungle - see him as crazy for thinking that there could be anything so small that it could live in a speck of dust, definitely makes things a whole lot harder!
Horton Hears a Who! was a really fun movie to watch; I enjoyed it a ton. There are tons of hilarious scenes and characters, and the whole environment is beautifully rendered. Aside from being visually pleasing, the whole cast of voices is impressive - and I'm definitely talking about the performance, not just the names. Jim Carrey is so much fun as Horton, definitely not going overboard this time, and Steve Carrell does a great job too. However, in my humble opinion, Katie - whatever she is - wins the award of best character in the whole movie. Not very visible, but even more exhilarating. Isla Fisher also deserves an honorable mention for her voice as Dr. Mary Lou Larue.
I liked this movie. It was fun, visually beautiful and not too shabby plot-wise either. What it was short of 9 stars was that something that is required of a movie to be really good. Still, this was something to enjoy!
