In 1375, China was in chaos between Yuan Dynasty and Ming Dynasty. Coryo (an ancient kingdom of Korea then) sent a delegation of many diplomats, soldiers and a silent slave to make peace with the new Chinese government. However, this delegation got charged as spies and sent in exile to a remote desert.

After I read Vertex's review of The Restless I was eager to see Musa. I knew that it can't be bad 'cos he had mentioned it and compared The Restless to Musa. Also knowing him somehow I started to watch this on a comfortable position and ice cold pepsi on my hand. I knew that this is going to be the highlight of the day - and it was.
In 1375, China is in chaos between Yuan Dynasty and Ming Dynasty which has driven Yuan Dynasty north to the Great Wall. Korea has sent numerous amount of envoys to China hoping that they could create and improve their diplomatic relations with the new chinese goverment. However, when the Korean envoys with their small group of soldiers come to their destination they'll get to an ambush where all of them get charged as spies and are sent in exile to a desert. In the desert the group comes across with a Yuan troop which slaughters all the followers of Ming. Since Yuan hasn't anything against the Koreans they manage to survive the battle. The survivors, group of envoys and soldiers, begin the journey towards their home country. Along the way the group meets the Yuan troop again and finds out that they have kidnapped a Ming princess. Koreans decides to rescue her so they could return home with honor. The table is set and the battle begins...
The group consists envoys, soldiers and a slave named Yeo-sol (Woo-sung Jung) who's master releases him and makes him a free man. I really liked the characters and I think the acting was phenomenal especially Woo-sung Jungs. I think it was great that the characters were somewhat normal people though I would have liked to know where the slave had got his fighting skills. As a friend of action this movie gave everything I could have ever possible hoped for. It's really nice to see some spear handling for a while instead of never-ending sword choreographies which aren't forgotten either. Also the storyline is interesting and goes forward fluently. I didn't think there was any useless scene in this movie. Maybe I'm still a little overwhelmed by all the nice action and don't have anything else in my mind.
Overall Musa is one incredible movie with nice and interesting plot with even nicer action. Some scenes are very brutal, but I didn't mind :D It's also nice to watch a movie as good as this in chinese. Definitely a movie that everyone should see. Ten stars from me.
