The third installment of the Star Trek series brings Justin Lin aboard to direct, Idris Elba as the baddie and a whole lot of forced jokes that are quite frankly, not that good.
Star Trek: Beyond isn't the great film that Trekkies and critics have been portraying it as. The writing and script is sub-par and as I mentioned earlier, the amount of attempted humor they try to shove down your throat fails at many levels. If there is a fourth film, it would make sense for the creative team to give us something a little more gritty in tone. Star Trek: Beyond, was a little bit of a misstep.
