When an evil emperor executes their leader, his band of knights – bound by duty and honour – embarks on a journey of vengeance that will not come to an end until they've destroyed their mortal foe.

This could have been really good. When beloved nobleman Lord Bartok (Morgan Freeman) throws the gauntlet down on vicious minister of the emperor Gezza Mott (Aksel Hennie), Bartok's loyal and revered warrior commander Raiden (Clive Owen) and crew fall from standing and must deal with the repercussions.
Its a pretty predictable trajectory from the first to third act that suffers from bad acting from both big names and small. But there are some cool fight scenes and little sparks of creative detail in between that save this from being terrible. There are times when you are in the mood for movies like this and if you are, I'd suggest watching Black Death or Ironclad. But if those aren't available, this is decent enough.
