There really isn't much you can say about Everest. While we have some star power in the film (Jason Clarke, Jake Gyllenhaal, Josh Brolin and John Hawkes) it's the mountain and the effects that make this movie.
Everest is based off of John Krakauer's 1997 novel Into Thin Air, the 1996 climb in which a massive storm claimed the lives of eight climbers and stranded others. While Krakauer is in the film (played by Michael Kelly) his role is understated. Something else to point out is that while Everest was thrilling, it did at times seem like it was missing some points. If they release an extended version of the movie, it may help close up some inconsistencies.
