A somewhat shy student (Miles Teller) attends a prestigious music school as a drummer. There, under the direction of an unmerciful instructor (JK Simmons) his sanity and tolerance is put to the test.
What can you say? JK Simmons brings his "A" game here and absolutely crushes it as Terrance Fletcher. You literally want to kill the guy. There were some shades of him as Vern Schillinger in HBO's OZ sprinkled in his performance. Miles Teller was also excellent. The kid had some major stones for dealing with what he had to go through. Is the film accurate? I'm sure there is some tyranny like that out there somewhere. I, however, would not stand for it.
