My TwitchFilm Newsletter has been pretty good to me over the years. It's given me a lot of exposure to cinema from around the world that I would never have had the chance to see. It delivered again today, with These Final Hours.
A meteor has hit Earth, starting a chain reaction that will kill everyone on the planet. A man, operating on a HAM frequency explains that Australia has 12 hours left before they join the rest of the other continents, ceasing to exist. James, a young man obsessed with the pending doom, needs to find his girlfriend, Vicky at the blow out of all parties. On the way, he saves a young girl named Rose. Together, they spend time together before things come to an end.
These Final Hours continues two excellent films I have seen recently that have come from our friends down under (The other being The Babadook). Excellent direction and acting throughout, it paints a very bleak picture of what happens when the shit truly hits the fan. I highly recommend it.
