It was difficult to think that Gareth Evans's follow up to 2011's The Raid would be as good as the original material. As the case with many films, the sequel does not meet the expectations. Sure, there are some unreal fight scenes that are very enjoyable. It's cool to think about initially, but as the The Raid 2 continues, it gets to the point of no return. Sequences push the brink of being realistic, the script is full of a lot of fat and you get to the point of going "Wow another 10 minute plus fight scene?" All this sounds like I hated the movie. That is further from the truth. I hope that Evans goes back to his roots for the third film in the trilogy and doesn't try to make such a convoluted plot. It's not necessary. Just give us a movie that runs about 100 mins. Anything more is just too much.
