One night per year, the government sanctions a 12-hour period in which citizens can commit any crime they wish -- including murder -- without fear of punishment or imprisonment. Leo, a sergeant who lost his son, plans a vigilante mission of revenge during the mayhem. However, instead of a death-dealing avenger, he becomes the unexpected protector of four innocent strangers who desperately need his help if they are to survive the night.

The Second Time Around
Stay safe. Two words that are uttered during the eve of The Purge: Anarchy from various characters. Are you going to stay home and sit it out? Or do you plan on taking part in your given rights by the New Founding Fathers to cleanse? In this sequel to the 2013 movie, Anarchy focuses on 5 individuals with various subplots. Eventually, they band together. Will they survive the night? Or will they become notches in someone's belt? I felt the sequel was a lot better than the original. The fact that you weren't contained to one locale and you had some characters you could relate to helped. It's nothing that's going to win any awards, but it filled the void on a Sunday afternoon.
