Major Bill Cage is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously demoted and dropped into combat. Cage is killed within minutes, managing to take an alpha alien down with him. He awakens back at the beginning of the same day and is forced to fight and die again... and again - as physical contact with the alien has thrown him into a time loop.

Tom Cruise plays a Major summoned to London to lead troops on the front line against a race of aliens known as Mimics. When he tries to blackmail the general out of his orders, he is knocked out, stripped of his rank and labeled a deserter. He is then thrown into the heart of combat anyway, where he gets caught in a time loop. He uses his knowledge of what he has learned in combat to lead his charge against the aliens.
Edge of Tomorrow was a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed the film. An excellent blend of Sci-Fi and action. It's one of the better Cruise films in a while. Some unexpected humor sprinkled in along the way, goes well with the viewing I wish the movie did better at the box office. It deserves better.
