A revered stunt motorcycle rider (Gosling) in Schenectady, NY tries to make things right with a local girl (Mendes) after he finds out that he is the father of her little boy. He resorts to robbing banks with a friend (Mendelsohn), a decision that puts him on a crash course with an ambitious cop (Cooper) wanting to do the right thing in a department filled with corruption. This encounter changes both of their lives and their futures forever. TPBTP is an interesting Drama filled with some memorable moments, some things that you will take away with you. There are a few cliched scenes that I could have done without, but Derek Cianfrance's follow up to Blue Valentine is a worthy follow-up sprinkled with some minor flaws.
