In 1931, the Bondurant brothers of Franklin County, Virginia, run a multipurpose backwoods establishment that hides their true business — bootlegging. Middle brother Forrest is the brain of the operation; older Howard is the brawn, and younger Jack, the lookout. Though the local police have taken bribes and left the brothers alone, a violent war erupts when a sadistic lawman from Chicago arrives and tries to shut down the Bondurants operation.

Review from the comment
The Bondurant brothers run a productive Moonshine business in Virginia during prohibition. Soon, a corrupt government agent from Chicago strolls into town and wants a cut of the action. Of course that just won't do, and the standoff is on. Which side will emerge from the battle victorious? I had very high expectations from Lawless, but they were quelled slightly after viewing the film. There are moments where you have to suspend all types of realism to accept what happens along the way. However, Lawless is hurt by showcasing Shia LeBeouf as the headliner. Put him in with giant robots and I can handle that. However, in an adult drama that should pack some punch, he can't deliver.
