While Sergeant John Tyree is home on two weeks leave from Germany, he meets Savannah after he dives into the ocean to retrieve Savannah's purse that had fallen off a pier. John eventually falls in love with Savannah, who promises to write to him until he returns from overseas.

Dear Johning the world
I expected this to be really bad but it wasn't as bad... I loved Channing Tatum in A guide to recognize your saints so he is capable of other things besides showing off his bod. I am yet to decide whether I actually like Amanda Seyfried but she is definitely one to watch. The movie is pretty standard... nothing surprising but if there ever in these types of movies. Mediocre.
6th star just because it took them over a year to have sex which I thought was quite rare and respectable in a movie
7th just because I got to explain what it means to get a dear john.
