London, England, on the eve of World War II. Guinevere Pettigrew, a strict governess who is unable to keep a job, is fired again. Oldfashioned Charm
I'm a sucker for these sort of movies that give us a glipse of the "olden times". Frances McDormand is perfect as coy miss Pettigrew, who finds herself in the whirlwind that is Delysia Lafosse. The core of this movie is the growing process of miss Pettigrew, who truly finds herself and her inner wisdom during the course of the film. Besides that its filled with witty dialogue, comical incidences and, of course, romance. The only minus is that there are some scenes of partial nudity.
