27 Dresses
Entertaining, but not really special A typical chickflick. It's an ugly duckling kind of a story where in the end the everybody lives happily ever after. I must say that I am a fan of Katherine Heigl an I really think she had an impressive way of making such a dull character as Jane realistic.

27 Dresses
Written by Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada) and directed by Anne Fletcher (Step Up), 27 Dresses, although predictable, wasn't as bad as what I had previously heard. A nice 'heart warming' love story, great cast with very good direction, this movie will obviously appeal to fans of the Romantic Comedy genre.
I have to say that the highlight of the movie for me, apart from admiring the sight of Katherine Heigl, was a drunken rendition of Elton John's Bennie and the Jets....hilarious :-)

You Have Seen a Dozen of These
27 Dresses uses pretty much the same formula as every other romantic comedy that comes from Hollywood these days. Is that good or bad? Well, you decide, but unfortunately it doesn’t work for me, at least not this time.
The jokes are dry, the emotions are dull, the plot is very predictable and everything feels far too familiar. It’s hard to understand why to make a movie that fails to pass any strong emotions to the viewer. I think that usually a movie should raise emotions or at least make you think. This one doesn’t do either. I couldn’t even feel the supposed affection between the lead actors. I think that both Marsden and Heigl are very good actors but unfortunately in this movie I couldn’t really feel sparks between them.
On the positive side, the movie doesn’t use bad tasted humour and it makes you feel good….just a little at least. I can’t praise the movie too much, but my wife liked it and I guess that if romantic comedies is your thing you might like this one as well. To sum up, 27 dresses is a typical and worse than mediocre romantic comedy.
