In the Valley of Elah
A little preachy at times. It takes place mostly in the states with video flashbacks to Iraq. It's a murder mystery that, once solved, reveals the soldiers' disconnect with reality and their desensitized response to violence as they return home and await their next tour. It effectively captures just how foreign, tragic and unimaginable the life of a soldier in Iraq can be.
