Based on Frank Miller's graphic novel, "300" is very loosely based the 480 B.C. Battle of Thermopylae, where the King of Sparta led his army against the advancing Persians; the battle is said to have inspired all of Greece to band together against the Persians, and helped usher in the world's first democracy.

Was the special efects of the Day
The Drama was so so not well explained . The special effects of the movies are excellent so much is been use today in other movies like Spartacus Blood and Sand.

2 hours of superb cinematography, great acting and a brilliant story which will no doubt impress anyone who watches this film. Gerard Butler impressed me in the lead role of King Leonidas. A great pleasure to watch. Wonderful film making by Director Zack Snyder. Absolutely stunning.
