Monica Wright and Quincy McCall grew up in the same neighborhood and have known each other since childhood. As they grow into adulthood, they fall in love, but they also share another all-consuming passion: basketball. As Quincy and Monica struggle to make their relationship work, they follow separate career paths though high school and college basketball and, they hope, into stardom in big-league professional ball.

I saw Love & Basketball back in 2000 when it first came out. Fast forward 15 years later, and I decided to revisit it again. It still holds up.
Quincy and Monica have known each other since they were kids. As it progresses, it shows them become lovers and follows their lives into college and adults. As you would expect, there are highs and lows.
This is one of the first "chick flicks" I remember watching and enjoying. The plot is interesting enough, and you have likable characters played by Omar Epps and Sanaa Lathan. Another big plus is the soundtrack. Almost every track is memorable and suits the film perfectly.
