Oliver Hirschbiegel's first WWII film, Downfall is a masterpiece. That piece follows Hitler's last days. In 13 Minutes, Hirschbiegel comes back to Hitler and one man's attempt to assassinate him. I did not know much about the man involved, Georg Elser. However, the film was pretty interesting and made me wonder what would have happened if he had succeeded.
It's based on a true story and while it doesn't hold up as well as it did the first time I saw it in 2002, Paid In Full is still grimy, and memorable. Wood Harris is really underrated in this film. The cautionary tale of what happens when you get caught up in the game. I'm surprised this hasn't been remade to give it a fresh coat of paint.
