Review from the comment
An expert trapper / hunter is left to die in harsh winter conditions. Using his knowledge of his craft, he heals up and seeks vengeance.
Alejandro González Iñárritu's follow up to the Oscar decorated Birdman has him directing Leo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy. The Revenant is a cerebral and at times brutal film. It's also garnered a lot of Oscar attention, with 12 nominations. I thought the film was very good. My main beef being possibly 20 minutes too long. While DiCaprio is worthy as Hugh Glass (He will most likely receive an Oscar for his body of work) it is Tom Hardy, as John Fitzgerald that is the one who shines. Emmanuel "el chivo"Lubezki brings his stunning touch of Cinematography to this film. His gifts are amazing.
