Review from the comment
After the disappointment that Iron Man 2 was, I simply expected that Iron Man 3 would be better. At times it was. If you like eye popping visuals, Robert Downey Jr reprising his role as the smug billionaire Tony Stark and Gwyneth Paltrow looking sexy then this is the film for you. You will eat this up for its 130 minute running time. However, if you want more substance than that and a faithful adaptation of what went down in the comic books, then steer clear of this movie. In all seriousness, Iron Man 3 really could have been a top tier Marvel film. However, it flounders on a twist so ridiculous that it can't be forgiven. I wonder what the Director's Cut will look like since all of the China footage is lying on a cutting room floor. The summer movie season starts with a thud. Let's hope it rebounds.
