Set on an island off the coast of New England in the summer of 1965, Moonrise Kingdom tells the story of two twelve-year-olds who fall in love, make a secret pact, and run away together into the wilderness. As various authorities try to hunt them down, a violent storm is brewing off-shore – and the peaceful island community is turned upside down in more ways than anyone can handle.

Review from the comment
Wes Anderson is back with his newest film about two love struck pre-teens in 1960. It's a fun film, but not great and while it lacks drop dead laugh out loud moments, there are enough chuckles to make the 94 minutes go by easy enough. As the kids, I hope that Kara Hayward and Jared Gilman aren't just one time Hollywood kids who slide into obscurity. They are very good in the film. With the big names in the film, you'd think they would be dwarfed, but they more than hold their own. Moonrise Kingdom is a nice coming of age story.
