Series Showing Signs of Weakness
The greatest horror franchises usually start fading with number three in the series and Paranormal Activity proves to be no exception. The first 30-40 minutes have a huge been there, done that vibe and what was creepy in the first two films now becomes a little boring. However, the second half of PA3 is much stronger, leading to a wild finish that is not only the most intense of the franchise but also explains the origin of the demon that has accosted these sisters for their whole lives. It will be interesting to see what they do with the fourth entry and see if they can maintain any kind of level of quality. While PA3 is still mostly solid, I foresee a steep downhill turn when they release the next inevitable sequel.
