Lost In Translation?

The Life and Death of a Porno Gang is not a good film. It focuses on a traveling group of porn performers who continually are getting kicked out of every city they act in due to obscenity. Eventually the head of the gang meets a mysterious figure who convinces him that the way to making the big dollars and having a satisfying directing career is to make snuff films.

The Life and Death of a Porno Gang is really kind of an Attention Deficit Disorder on film. Much of it is meant to shock the viewer and repulse them. While there are a few moments for sure, overall, I didn't feel the intent of the movie and really was left wondering if there was some political agenda there to decipher.

Here we go again. Another Serbian film, billed as in the vein of A Serbian Film. Look, I'm no megafan of A Serbian Film, but at least it had its merits. It was full of clever dialogue and its twist is right up there with the greatest. But it also went way too far in pushing the envelope of decency. And I simply can't get into movies like that.
That doesn't mean I won't try though apparently. The Life and Death of a Porno Gang's trailer let me know right away that I was in for another shocking event but in the end, did not even live up to the hype of being ultra disturbing. There are no merits here either. The plot is shoddy, the characters unlikable, and even the shock value is below what was anticipated. And that my friends makes it a failure on every front.
