Newly-paroled former US Army ranger Cameron Poe is headed back to his wife, but must fly home aboard a prison transport flight dubbed "Jailbird" taking the “worst of the worst” prisoners, a group described as “pure predators”, to a new super-prison. Poe faces impossible odds when the transport plane is skyjacked mid-flight by the most vicious criminals in the country led by the mastermind — genius serial killer Cyrus "The Virus" Grissom, and backed by black militant Diamond Dog and psychopath Billy Bedlam.

Great Cast!
After I saw Con Air on pillar's timeline I was really eager to watch it myself once again. Filmgator is really starting to effect me :)
I've seen Con Air countless of times and it's always good. At that time Nicolas Cage did great movies like this one, The Rock, Face Off and became one of my favorite actors. Nowadays the quality of Cage's movies has decreased, but he's still an actor everyone should acknowledge.
In Con Air Cage is playing a role of Cameron Poe, a returned US Ranger who came back home, Alabama, to see his wife, Tricia. During their way home from Tricia's work few drunks attack them and Poe kills by accident one of the attackers while defending his pregnant wife. Cameron is convicted for a murder and 'cos of his military background he gets harder sentence. After spending Eight Years in prison freedom awaits Poe. He is being trasfered with small group of villains by special aircraft. For Poe's misfortune the small group is formed of the most dangerous criminals. No wonder the tagline's called Get Ready To fly.
The movie includes a great cast. Nicolas Cage along with John Malkovich, John Cusack, Steve Buscemi, Ving Rhames and even the stand-up comedian Dave Chapelle. Great actors and good acting. For an action film there isn't that much action, but when there is it doesn't leave anyone cold except the dead bodies... Movie contains a lot of talking and I think that Steve Buscemi does a fantastic job. Interesting plot that keeps the watchers interest alive and the storyline goes smoothly forward.
Overall Con Air's an awesome action package with great cast. Also with less than two hour runtime it's a great package - still not worth of a nine stars though, but close. Very close.
