Michio Yamamoto was born on 6 July 1933 in Niigata, Japan. He was a director and assistant director, known for Throne of Blood (1957), Terror in the Streets (1970) and Ame wa shitteita (1971). He died on 23 August 2004 in Koganei, Tokyo, Japan.
