L谩szl贸 Krasznahorkai (born January 5, 1954) is a Nobel Prize-winning Hungarian novelist and screenwriter. He is known for difficult and demanding novels, often labelled postmodern, with dystopian and melancholic themes. Several of his works, notably his novels Satantango (S谩t谩ntang贸, 1985) and The Melancholy of Resistance (Az ellen谩ll谩s melank贸li谩ja, 1989), have been turned into feature films by Hungarian film director B茅la Tarr.
